GLADYS CLOUGH

Gladys Clough must be best known as 'The Cushion Queen'. Inspired by nature Glad has designed and stitched an enormous selection of cushions. A great many of these designs have predominately used Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS'.

No. 93

'Birds of all types from a tiny hummingbird and spectacular flamingo to the large, flightless emu are stitched on this handy orts pot and needlefold in shades of denim blue silk onto a natural background.' Designed by Jenny McWhinney, it is stitched using Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS' and perlé silk 'BUDS'.

A kit for this beautiful project is available through Jenny McWhinney .


No. 91

This beautiful dogwood design is by Marg Light. Worked in Gumnut Yarns fine wool 'DAISIES' on linen twill, this graceful garland illustrates each phase of growth from the opening bud to the formation of the richly coloured seed pods. Perfect as a framed piece, this delightful design would also make a superb cushion or a wonderful motif for a blanket or throw. .

A collection of more than 200 stitched dotted and checkered patterns.

This project pack shows many ways to create 'dotted' effects using stitches, threads and colour placement.
It is a collection of stitch patterns that will create a visual pattern that mimics 'dots', 'spots' and 'blocks'.

The 26 pages in this package contain project instructions and 222 stitch patterns. .

A stripe is defined as a long narrow band, mark, or streak,
differing in colour, texture, or material from the surrounding material or surface.

A stripe pattern is defined as a textile design of parallel bands or lines on a contrasting background.
