Deerfield Tile using Gumnut Yarns

two handled vase, foliage and flowers in
tones of blue on off white linen twill.
Deerfield Pocket and Chatelaine

'DAISIES' using the stitches employed
by the Deerfield society.
Nigella and Honesty worked exclusively in
Gumnut Yarns
stranded silk 'STARS', fine
wool 'DAISIES' and silk/wool 'POPPIES' a
naturalistic modern crewel style.

Blackbird Needlecase mainly uses

perlé silk 'BUDS'.
Enlarged cushion version uses Gumnut

Sweet Secret mostly uses Gumnut Yarns perlé silk 'BUDS'. Red pelargonium flowers worked on charcoal ticking fabric creates a charming jewellery pouch.

MAREE TALBOT

 
Elizabethan Casket is Maree's signature
piece, consisting of separately worked panels on a linen background primarily using Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS'.
Elizabethan Needlework Accessories -
use traditional stitches to create miniatures for your sewing box or friends using Gumnut Yarns stranded silk STARS'.
Elizabethan Animals - worked in
detached buttonhole stitch. Use Gumnut Yarns
stranded silk 'STARS' to produce three dimensional, life-like animals.
 
Peacock Splendour - is a typical Elizabethan design featuring a peacock surrounded by coiling stems of gold,
enclosing flowers, insects and small creatures. Stitched using Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS'
on a linen background, it is the Elizabethan Casket's 'piece de resistance'.
 
Fantasy 1 - featuring a bird under
a fruiting tree of grapes and lily stitched in
Gumnut Yarns
stranded silk 'STARS' is
the first panel on the Casket.
Elizabethan Monogram features a Tudor
rose stitched in Gumnut Yarns stranded
silk 'STARS' embellished with gold and
pearls on a linen background.

The Peacock features a stunning
needle-lace tail and sits on a pear tree
stump inside a roundel. It is worked in
a wide range of threads including
Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS'.'
Hawthorn and Hummingbird Moth is a
nature study of this little moth and
one of the trees it visits for nectar.
Stitched in many silks, including
Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS'.
State of Splendour features a number
of the floral emblems of the United States.
Worked in a range of silks including
Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS'
on a background of silk satin.

DI FISHER

An English Garden Band Sampler - All seven bands include the use of Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS'. This arcaded band pattern is worked in a number of counted stitches typical of 17th Century embroidery.

Band 1 - a twisted border encloses a red rose,
Love-in-a-mist flowers, Heartsease or Pansies,
pink flowers and acorns. It measures 20 x 9cms.
Band 2 - features a vase containing a rose, two irises,
and stems of grapes or 'wands'. Above and below
there are two small strawberry patterns.
Band 3 - adapted, with kind permission, it features
an eight-pointed star pattern with acorns,
oak leaves, borage flowers and strawberries.
Band 4 - features a honeysuckle and grape trellis
with roses, acorns and birds and
small pomegranate pattern stitched above.
Band 7 - the perfect band to finish or start the sampler
features two birds facing a central carnation, pomegranates, caterpillars, flowers and thistles.

mice cuddled in a patchwork blanket. Threads
used are primarily Gumnut Yarns fine wool
'DAISIES' and crewel wool 'BLOSSOMS'
Bunny Blanket - designed to be completed
in one day, it is worked in Gumnut Yarns
fine wool 'DAISIES' and perlé silk 'BUDS'
on wool cashmere blanketing. .
London Bears - except for a touch of
gold this blanket uses only Gumnut Yarns
fine wool 'DAISIES' and was designed for
the birth of a student's first grandchild.

DELMA MOORE

Delma Moore is most well known for her Brazilian Embroidery, establishing Blackberry Lane in 1995. Her design range has grown to around 100 since then, available in kit or print form.

As well as an extensive mail order service Delma holds classes at various Embroidery Guilds, craft shops and craft groups by arrangement in Australia and overseas.

Delma has 'spread her wings' and used Gumnuts in some of her designs, with 'Gumnuts and Blossoms' being so appropriate

'A vibrant palette of silk and the sparkle of silver and gold metallic threads come together to create this delightful little bag, designed by Victoria Laine. Inspired by the lavishly embroidered sweete' bags of the 16th and 17th centuries', it is worked with a different design on each side using 25 shades of Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS'.

No. 98

'Inspired by the whimsical and fantastic small embroidered bags of the 16th and 17th centuries, Victoria Laine has created this endearing little frog purse' worked in needlelace using mainly Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS'. Worn hung by a cord from the waist purse designs were inspired by the natural world.

No. 93

'Birds of all types from a tiny hummingbird and spectacular flamingo to the large, flightless emu are stitched on this handy orts pot and needlefold in shades of denim blue silk onto a natural background.' Designed by Jenny McWhinney, it is stitched using Gumnut Yarns stranded silk 'STARS' and perlé silk 'BUDS'.

All Wrapped Up

begin to resemble gift paper used to wrap Christmas and other presents.

This booklet gathers 25 of these stitch patterns
and presents them as a small sampler, stitched in holiday colours.
